November 5: Union Bay Edible Mushroom Walk

A message from Charlotte Ostrowski:

From the messages I received, I see that November 5th is probably the best day for the extended and more strenuous version of my EDIBLE MUSHROOM WALK.

Last year five of us brought home chantrelles and pine mushrooms, but we might also find some cauliflower or porcupine mushrooms.

We will be meeting at 10 a.m.

I don't know how long we'll be out there, as it all depends on how fit everyone is and what the weather's like, but we might have to be out of the bush by 2 p.m. if the gate closes early.

Bring a lunch, a bucket, a pair of clean gardening gloves and a pocket knife. Be dressed for and prepared to walk on moss through wet undergrowth.

If you have any questions or need a to find out about local weather conditions, please call me.

If you don't have transportation or you'd like to carpool with somebody to Union Bay and share gas costs, please email me and I'll set something up.

I look forward to seeing you.
