This month’s topic has two parts:
1. What Would You Do If You Won the Lottery?
Stories abound about the perils of life after a windfall. What would you do if you won the lottery? How much of the money would you save, spend and give away? What do you see as the downside to this good fortune? How would you deal with situations like strangers approaching you for money? Do you think it is possible to win hundreds of millions of dollars and keep your personality, values and outlook on life intact?
2. Should Charities Focus More on their own country?
Have you ever wondered why some charities seem focused more on international issues than those in their own country? Do you think focusing predominantly on other countries is fair? If you ran a large charity, where would you direct your funds? Why?
Tell us whether you think directing charitable resources to other countries is the right thing to do. Why might it be important for Canadian-based charities to aid foreign countries? Why might it be important for them to focus on problems at home? Where do you think a charity could do the most good?
